COMPREHENSIVE CLINICAL ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT PLANNING
Your first appointment will include a full clinical assessment which includes taking a comprehensive history of your current condition including a full examination and details of your work, sports, hobbies and lifestyle.
This full assessment is essential to identify the cause and any contributing factors to enable diagnosis. Then together we can agree a treatment plan that is tailored to suit your lifestyle and takes into account the whole body but targeting on the cause of the problem as well as treating your symptoms.
Your first appointment also includes an initial treatment so that you can start your recovery straight away.
PERSONAL EXERCISE PROGRAMME TAILORED TO YOUR SPECIFIC NEEDS.
All exercise programmes will be developed and agreed with you taking into account your personal circumstances, ability, level of fitness and presenting condition. We will agree progression and/or level of these exercises to suit your rate of progress and rehabilitation potential.
Physiotherapists are specialists in human movement and use this expertise to help relieve pain. We use a combination of advice and education, postural correction, active and passive therapy. This may include the use of heat or ice, stretching and range of motion exercises, strengthening exercises and/or pain relief exercises.
We will work together with you to treat sports injuries to get you back to fitness as soon as possible and help prevent reoccurrence of injury.
FALLS PREVENTION AND MAINTAINING INDEPENDENCE IN YOUR OWN HOME
Either you or an elderly parent may be experiencing difficulties at home or with mobility. We can carry out an assessment; give advice, education and strengthening exercises to help maintain independence and mobility.
Women’s health physiotherapy is a non-surgical treatment for a number of women’s health problems. Incontinence advice and education, pelvic floor muscle exercises, carpel tunnel treatment. Pre and post-operative advice and education e.g. hysterectomy, prolapse repair and other gynaecological procedures.

POST-SURGICAL REHABILITATION KNEE AND HIP REPLACEMENT, SHOULDER ARTHROSCOPY
Maximising function and strength prior to planned orthopaedic surgery can help speed up recovery and potentially decrease risk of complications after surgery. Advice and coping strategies can be put in place before your surgery.
A post-operative rehabilitation programme will be personalised for you based on the recommendations of your surgeon. From the early stages when pain management is critical and then through every phase of your recovery your treatment plan will be modified to suit your progress.

The shoulder is an intricate series of joints and shoulder pain is not uncommon. However shoulder pain may be simple or more complex with a variety of possible causes. These can include injury, arthritis, rotator cuff problems, tendinopathy, impingement, muscle imbalance, postural instability and referred neck pain.
Treatment can vary depending on the cause therefore careful assessment is critical. We will complete a full and thorough assessment before agreeing a treatment plan with you.
